You mean in addition to taking in the cap? No big deal. Save the wefts they are good to have and cheap to add back in if u ever want

I'm not clear myself. If the cap is too big, isn't taking in the cap meaning removing wefts too?

Nope you can take in a cap and leave the wefts in there kinda like a hem on a dress without cutting out fabric

Taking the wefts out helps bulk or weight and manageability. Sets stay longer too.
