If he brushes his teeth and still smells, it could be the following:
1. Lack of flossing
2. Tooth decay
3. Sinus issues
4. Digestion issues

He could have gum disease. Lasering the gums can really help

Dr lichter does it. Dont recommend him for anything else though.

He did it for someone I know with the same problem and it worked wonders

Don't overdo it with the mouthwash - if it's alcohol based it will be drying which can make the problem worse.

I've noticed that both my husband and son get bad breath if they go too long without eating and drinking.
I warn them to eat something before coming home!

Could be thrush (Candida overgrowth in the mouth/tongue). If this is the case, you’d need to kill the Candida by starving it from what it likes to eat (sugar, dairy, refined carbs, etc.)

Start with the regular doctor and continue with referrals as needed. It could be Gerd reflux, sinus post-nasal drip, gastrointestinal issues or gum disease.

I get this when my sinuses act up.
And I very religiously brush and floss twice a day. It has nothing to do with dental hygiene on my case

It may be tonsil stones. Totally harmless but can be annoying and leaves you with very bad breath.
