I am looking for some solid parenting advice.

My DD, 9 years old, is bright, a good student, a good athlete, and well-liked by students ad teachers.

Recently, her behavior has changed. Another student, let's call her "E," is the ringleader. She, my DD, and another girl ("R"), are friends. "E" encourages the other two girls to misbehave and they do it to impress her. (A concerned teacher filled me in on this dynamic.)

Lately, my DD's grades have been slipping, she's not been paying as much attention in class, she stole money from her brothers to buy some tchotchkes (some cards that kids collect) to impress her friends, started using unsavory language, etc.

How can I get her back on track?

This would require discipline. Have there been consequences for her behavior?

Is she getting enough attention at home?

Is something going on that might have caused her to seek more peer approval than usual?

What do you mean? You mean it is a phase that she will outgrow?

I am worried she is headed for trouble.

She also recently pulled out all her eyelashes.

the bold I find quite alarming. It's normal for kids to seek approval from friends but the last makes it sounds like she is unhappy and trying to act out
