Quote:
Reports of organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners and other political prisoners in China have raised increasing concern by some groups within the international community. According to the reports,[1] political prisoners, mainly Falun Gong practitioners, are being executed "on demand" in order to provide organs for transplant to recipients. The organ harvesting is said to be taking place both as a result of the Chinese Communist Party's persecution of Falun Gong and because of the financial incentives available to the institutions and individuals involved in the trade.

Reports on systematic organ harvesting from Falun Gong prisoners first emerged in 2006, though the practice is thought by some to have started six years earlier. Several researchers—most notably Canadian human rights lawyer David Matas, former parliamentarian David Kilgour and investigative journalist Ethan Gutmann—estimate that tens of thousands of Falun Gong prisoners of conscience have been killed to supply a lucrative trade in human organs and cadavers and that these abuses may be ongoing.[2] These conclusions are based on a combination of statistical analysis; interviews with former prisoners, medical authorities and public security agents; and circumstantial evidence, such as the large number of Falun Gong practitioners detained extrajudicially in China and the profits to be made from selling organs.

The Chinese government has consistently denied the allegations. However, the perceived failure of Chinese authorities to effectively address or refute the charges has drawn attention and public condemnation from some governments, international organizations and medical societies. The parliaments of Canada and the European Union, as well as the Foreign Affairs Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives, have adopted resolutions condemning organ harvesting from Falun Gong prisoners of conscience. United Nations Special Rapporteurs have called on the Chinese government to account for the sources of organs used in transplant practices, and the World Medical Association, the American Society of Transplantation and the Transplantation Society have called for sanctions on Chinese medical authorities. Several countries have also taken or considered measures to deter their citizens from travelling to China for the purpose of obtaining organs. A documentary on organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners, Human Harvest, received a 2014 Peabody Award recognizing excellence in broadcast journalism.[3]

Here’s an excerpt from a Wikipedia article about s-xual abuse victims in the NY Charedi community. You can decide for yourself if you want to believe everything you read on Wikipedia.

“Witness tampering sometimes occurs after someone is accused of s-xual abuse. Victims, their families, and advocates have been threatened with violence,[11] false police reports of child abuse,[1] loss of kosher licenses or other harm to business, and/or eviction.[8] They are pressured or offered bribes not to co-operate with prosecutors,[1][8][10] and physical harassment,[6][1] distribution of fliers attacking victims and advocates,[8][10][11] and coercion occur.[10]

Establishment reprisal against s-xually abused children and their parents can be severe: Parents have been shunned by the community, with rabbis forbidding congregants to speak to them, and abused children have been barred from schools.[12][1]

Even when cases are reported to police, they often cannot be prosecuted because victims decide not to go forward with a case, or agree to a plea deal (usually a cash payment) with the accuser, out of fear of reprisal.[1] District Attorney Charles Hynes has stated, "As soon as we would give the name of a defendant ... (rabbis and others) would engage this community in a relentless search for the victims... And they're very, very good at identifying the victims. And then the victims would be intimidated and threatened, and the case would fall apart." Hynes has described the intimidation that occurs in these cases as worse than anything else he has ever seen in his career, including mob cases and police corruption cases.[13]”

Anyone can say anything they want about anyone else, that's not impressive, let alone evidence. It's also very unimpressive when victims can't be found, presumably because they were "all" intimidated into not giving condemning evidence. To me such stories sounds more like a conspiracy theory than news.

Wikipedia is just a quick overview at best. Scroll down to the sources at the bottom of the page, and see where they get their information from, and in what context it was written.

I do know that China uses prisoners to process things like peeled garlic and other food items.

Yes, China harvests organs from prisoners. AFAIK, there is good evidence. Good journalism is supposed to gather good evidence.

I was once scheduled to go see Bodies: the exhibit and was really intrigued, but then found out that the bodies are from China and there's good evidence that they're "donated" by political prisoners. Needless to say, I cancelled my trip.

Rabbi Elyashiv forbids organ donations from China for this reason.

You don't need to go on Wikipedia. There is plenty of evidence.

It boils down to this: China is performing operations on a scale that could not possibly be accounted for by volunteers.

Additionally, "organs on demand" are widely available in China, suggesting that people are being killed for their organs.

Additionally, former political prisoners report undergoing testing clearly aimed at checking if their organs were healthy.

Most damning, a doctor describes harvesting an organ from a live person.
