I'm not trying to be annoying. I'm just trying to get across to you the point that Yiras Shomayim is a huge spectrum. It's not binary. You can't compare a traffic violation to Shabbos. And that's all I have to say. |
You're wrong. On a 3-day yom tov you can light the cigarette but not put it out. So smokers light the cigarette from a yahrtzeit candle and then when they are done they throw it on the ground to continue polluting the air until it goes out on its own.
Yiras shamayim is a spectrum but if you put others' lives in danger you're no longer on that spectrum, you've crossed the red line signaling that you have zero yiras shamayim whatsoever. Smoking harms others' health and ultimately kills thousands of non-smokers each year.
