Hi! I'm looking for names that are inherently Zionist -- not just names that plenty of Zionists use like Ilan or Ohr.

This is my list so far, please help me add to it -- and give an explanation if it's not clear why the name belongs on the list:

Tzion
Ben Tzion
Israel
Ami
Amichai
Amiad
Amikam

I've heard Elyashiv and Ariel, but don't remember the reasons.

Depends what you mean by Zionist - sorry to be problematic.

Do you mean the belief that the return of Am Yisrael to Israel is a sure sign of the beginning of the geula. In which case you could have:
Mashiach
Amishav
Shuv'el
Eliyahu (Eliyahu hanavi bringing the geula)
David
Yishai
Elyashiv
Yig'al

Or do you mean Zion as in כי מציון תצא תורה ודבר השם מירושלים - which would be more Bet Hamikdash oriented, I would imagine.
Dvir
Ariel
Tzion

Hi, I feel ignorant asking, but can someone explain Yishai, Yigal, and Dvir?

Thanks!

I think Yig'al as in He who will redeem us.
I'm pretty sure Dvir refers to the kodesh kedashim of the bais hamikdash.

I'm stumped on Yishai as a Zionisitic name, other than Dovid ben Yishai.

Oh, and Shiloh for the place where the mishkan was for hundreds (google I see tells me 369) years.

Also, a name for Mashiach, see Sanhedrin 98b for other Mashiach names:Yinon,Chanina,Menachem ben Chizkia...

Isn't google wonderful?

I think Zev is a Zionist name, it evokes Zev Jabotinsky.

Both Zev Jabotinsky and Theodore Herzl were named Binyamin Zev.

In Devarim, Hashem promises to rest the Shechina in the territory of Binyamin.

People in Israel are called Herzl too - as a first name - mainly people of age ~60 that were born around the time of the start of the State.

And I'm the poster above who suggested David and Yishai - yes, simply because they are names from the Mashiach Ben David lineage. Like from Lecha dodi - "al yad ben yishai beit halachmi.." -
