Yes exactly I find it does too. But chol hamoed always will be family time, lockdown or not. It's sad that we can't go to visit Grandparents and family. We'll go for an outing to my parents garden lol. Obviously will have to make sure non of my other siblings are there at same time Smile

Really? that sounds great...where did you see info on that?

I ordered diamond painting kits for Chol Hamoed. We have never done that before so I'm hoping the kids find it fun. Thanks to someone on another thread for the suggestion (I got the 4-pack with different kinds of trees....)

My oldest 2 made a carnival for younger kids today. It was adorable. They all did the carnival booths in shifts together and everyone had a blast!!!
They were so creative.

We also had a pesach poster contest and then competed against family and neighbors on zoom. Make one poster and compete multiple times.

Both can be adapted for Chol Hamoed.

It’s been postponed.
Probably smart. If the media was upset about food pickup there this will drive them mad.

This link I posted gives an exact list of supplies needed. Brush sizes, colors and canvas. I bought exactly what it said.

I'm wondering if we can just drive out to a park that has huge empty spaces, make sure no one's there, and play ball. Of course everyone has to use the restroom at home only so it can't be for the entire day.

Many parks have closed at this point.
At one point they were keeping them open so ppl could get out. But they then said ppl were getting to close on trails.
Besides imagine if 100s of Jewish families have the same idea.

We should have backyard exchanges

Like someone in ny in apt can use someone empty backyard for 2 hrs.
Wipe down furniture and equipment with sanitizing wipes. Or wait 24 hrs until host uses it again
It would be a huge chessed.

Someone in an apt with toddlers comes to use my backyard. I have a chair and toys designated for only her and her toddlers. My kids don’t go out when she is there.

Smartest thing I ever heard him say
I'm curious though..
My children are over 20 , so I have no dog in this race.
But I wonder, with all the money spent on this , he could of just sponsored a really awesome video production we could all watch at home

I guess this year we will sit around all day and everyone will ask what we’re doing... and at 4pm we will NOT end up going bowling!

Now I'm thinking backyard carnival. The only booth I thought of so far is kiddie pool fishing. I need more ideas, but nothing with crafts.

One day my 12 and 13 yr old boys made carnival for younger kids. It was so much fun. Every one did booths in shifts. And then moved to next activity . They made tickets and had prizes.
- coin toss on to floating sponges
- find number on paper
- guess the juice flavor
- race to eat something fastest
- basketball toss
- jump rope longest
- find name in phone book fastest
- 3 doors (box with 3 doors. One has treat one has spritz water...)

I’m thinking of doing a picture scavenger hunt. I got the idea on here. Split into 2 teams. Also want to do picnic in backyard. I know there are lots of jokes about it - but why not.

I have tons of canvases and paints so thinking of doing a " paint night" on YouTube with my husband and kids (8,7,3). We may have whole extended family do the same one and then do a zoom show off.
If it's nice, bikes in local park or my driveway.
We will probably grill for suppers
Maybe movie night
Any other ideas anyone has?

My kids named it CORONIVAL!!
Not a carnival! Plan and prepare the booths
Buy a cotton candy machine-you can use plain sugar!
For younger kids
You can buy a bouncy house if you have room
Or large pool filled with balls
Kites, bubbles, chalk,
