Is your baby having plenty of wet and dirty diapers? Is your baby eating well and seems to be growing? I wouldn't go If all seems ok

For a girl, definitely not, but I would want a baby boy checked out before a bris. Call and ask about what precautions they are taking and if they can bring you straight to an exam room when you get there so you don't spend any time in the waiting room.

our dpctor's office just e-mailed that the location we use is Only for well visits. they will take temperature, screen kids at the door so people don't skip the well visits.

Can you do a phone appointment with the doctor? Then they can check how feeding is going etc without you having to expose the baby. Having a scale at home may be useful so you can see that the baby is putting on weight

I would not. My doctors office is getting on the telemedicine bandwagon. If your doctor isn’t I’m sure you can speak on the phone and they can confirm appropriate gain weight dirty diapers etc.

I would love to take my newborn DD for a well visit, but she's eating well, has several dirty and wet diapers a day, so I'm assuming she's doing well bh.
I'd rather not take her to the doctor at the moment, unnecessarily.

Oh gosh this doesn't sound great. Kids can be asymptomatic for Corona. If they are fighting a virus and around this who are fighting viruses, the last thing they need are vaccines to fight and possibly shed when people around then are already vulnerable. I hope they rethink this.

Op here. I really don't want to but they're saying they are only taking kids under 18 months for well visits. No sick kids. They feel it's important for us to come in.

A newborn checkup is more than just checking if they have the right amount of diapers a day.
My peds office is doing well visits in the morn. Can your get the 1st appt? And the dr should wear a mask regardless.
Or see if homevisits are an option where you live.

My current 8m has been to the doctor once, for a rash a few weeks ago
(before bris we did have a ped friend come do a home visit)
Just btwn insurance and not getting my act together... My toddler also I think I made like 3 or 4 well visits. I just couldnt figure out what the point was to bring a healthy, eating/popping/sleeping baby into a doctor's office with germs so he could tell me where my kid is on a chart.

Unless you have a specific concern, I would not.

Sure, the kids are all well. But one of the parents may be in the incubation period. Or someone who was on the elevator before you. Or the janitor who washed the floor last night. Or, bluntly, one of the doctors.

I can tell you that unfortunately, I was at the grocery store the day before I got sick. I had no clue. Fortunately I was wearing gloves and ensuring I was 6 feet from anyone, including the cashier. I didn't sneeze or cough. But I could have inadvertently infected someone. Just like someone at the doctor's office could inadvertently infect you.

And its a whole lot more than weighing the kid. Its checking general health and progress, catching issues early. Its also vaccines, but I'm guessing you don't do them.

I think a weight check is important. Do you have access to a baby scale?

There are also congenital issues etc. that need to be screened.

I’d call your doctor to discuss for this specific issue. Also see if can do phone/video appointment. I’d personally be hesitant with everything going on.
