My father (not religious) works for a chassidic firm in Stamford Hill, UK. I live in a different country. His boss has been putting tremendous pressure on my father to come into work, despite my parents being in their 60s and my sister being disabled. I posted about this a couple of days ago.

There is now a lockdown in the U.K. My father stayed home today but is being pressured to come in tomorrow TO CLEAN HIS OFFICE FOR PESACH. I am so appalled and outraged.

My dad is afraid of losing his job if he refuses. I am looking for the contact number of an influential but accessible rabbi in the UK who can speak to my father to persuade him to stay home, or a chassidic (I think Chabad but not sure) rabbi who can tell my dad’s boss to stop pressuring him.

I also need links to rabbinical statements I can send my dad which stress that we can be lenient regarding Pesach cleaning this year and just do the bare minimum due to the unprecedented circumstances.

Thanks.

Rabbi Nachman Sudak OBM, Rabbi
Rabbi Levi Yitzchok Raskin, Dayan

I recognise their names from just hanging around the lubavitch center here but don't know them personally.

I took that from chabads website, here is a link where you can email them because I can't find the numbers.

https://www.sephardi.org.uk/be.....-din/

These are the three top batei din in the area. Someone at one of these organizations will be able to help you, you just need to call around a bit and figure it out.

Hatzlocha.

None of these batei din operate or are universally accepted in Stamford hill.

Hiller's suggestion is great, but he is difficult to get hold of.

OP, this is illegal. What the boss is asking doesn't seem to fall into any of the categories for leaving the house under lockdown.

Hatzlocho. This STINKS.

OBM means of blessed memory, Rabbi Nachman Sudak passed away several years ago. Dayan Raskin is the Dayan of the chabad community, and well aware of the dangers of coronavirus. Contact him by email here https://www.chabad.org/centers.....s.htm

He usually calls back any missed calls so try your luck.

Thanks for your responses. My dad said he would not be near other people since his office is secluded. I spoke to a posek here in the US who told me not to get involved with getting rabbis to speak to the boss and there’s nothing else I can do, just say tehillim.
