Hamokam yenachem. It's so hard right now to sit Shiva. My mom just had to sit for her sister, and it was heartbreaking to see her alone. Maybe you can at least zoom with family or set up zoom times for Shiva visits

Baruch dayan emet. Your father is coming to his original home, and he won't be alone. He is closer than ever to Hashem and to those who predeceased him. And he must know that you and your siblings are with him in spirit and would physically accompany him if you could.

As for how to make the shiva as comforting as possible, I have seen people sharing contact information in their circles so that they literally receive shiva calls by phone/computer. Depending upon your technology policy, E-mail, Zoom meetings and messaging applications may also be helpful. I recommend that you figure out how to contact a few key people from your Chabad, school and/or neighborhood to inform them of your situation and ask them to encourage others to reach out to you.

Try to spend time during shiva sharing comforting memories with your siblings and other relatives, and supporting each other. If it's still quieter than you'd like, maybe share some memories/tributes about your father here on Imamother. I am sure that people will read them, relate to them and maybe learn from them, and you will connect with them that way.

May your father's neshama have an aliyah. And may you not have further sorrow.

Don't wait for a call! Take the initiative to contact any or all of them!

At worst, you will have the zchut of letting someone know you care. At best, your gesture and/or your common loss/challenging situation may bind your family a little closer.

Baruch Dayan Haemes. I am so sorry for your loss and your pain. Sitting shiva in these times is really difficult without the comfort of visitors and being together with other mourners.

I hope this isn’t insensitive but it’s so interesting how he has 2 names sounding like pesach and he passed away on Pesach.
