Do you keep potato starch from one pesach to the next?

If it is still sealed?
If it was opened?

Yes. I always put it away from year to year. Sealed or open. Doesn't matter. I've done both.

Last time we made pesach was two years ago. Everything I had put away, spices , matzoh, tea, coffee, potato starch was perfect.
I had sealed and doubled bagged and keep in a dark pesach closet

Sealed is ok. Mark the year on the container so you know to use that one first.

If you’re able to, I’d recommend freezing.

Very much against my character, I used an open container that has been sitting in my pantry since last year. Anything goes this year Wink And we’re all fine!

What about walnut oil? It's $15 a bottle and I have 2/3 of a bottle left.

Should not be a problem. Switch into a smaller bottle , close cap tightly and put in a bag, let the air out.

It turns rancid. Not worth throwing it into the garbage after holding onto it for a year. Use it in cakes/cookies/pastries as it gives a great flavor to those items only.

Oil goes bad! Use it now.
Potato starch or tea no problem!
Spices you can keep but it won't be as flavorful, I usualy keep those for the year since I use it anyway and buy new for pessach!

Of all Pesach ingredients, potato starch probably has the best track record for longevity.Eventually jam crystallizes, grape juice sours, soda goes flat, to matzah meal gets stale, spices lose their flavor, cocoa turns to dust, but IME potato starch, if stored in a tightly closed container, takes a licking and keeps on ticking. It has no flavor to lose. Of course, if you bundle your plastic bag of starch right next to your plastic jar of garlic, the starch will eventually pick up the garlic taste. Avoid this by storing one or the other, or both, in glass or metal.

Wrap the container with Saran Wrap
Or put it in a ziplock bag and suck out as much air as you can

I have not had good experience with using an opened potato starch the next year. It's not spoiled but my cakes did not come out as well I could certainly tell the difference. A sealed container is absolutely fine from year to year.

Store them in the freezer. I put ground almonds in the freezer on receipt and whatever isn’t used up is there for next year. Whole nuts or chopped nuts I use up during the year but keep in freezer anyway.

Coffee is not worth keeping —use it up during the year. . Unopened Coffee in glass lasts better than coffee in plastic but still loses aroma and flavor so it’s barely worth drinking by the following Pesach even if it’s before the “best before” date.

Teabags individually wrapped in foil-like pouches can be saved for a year or more,
