You just reminded me that I a co-worker once asked me to write out a check for him to give to someone. I told him it was lucky I was honest. Bc I could have written anything. LOL

Also. I love that x thing. Can I tweet that?

And don't worry. You have nothing to be ashamed of.

I can write a check but I know nothing about mortgages and taxes. And I own a houseđŸ€Šâ€â™€ïž

I also don’t know left from right. I need to raise my Shema hand to figure it out.

I also hold a pen wrong. By the time they showed me the right way in first grade it was to late.

Ugh that brings back 2nd grade memories when I had a teacher who forced all of us to hold our pencils correctly. It was so painful for me, it left a flat spot on my finger from the pencil (now gone but I still remember it.) I still don't consistently hold my pencil correctly and when I do I get flashbacks of her and her classroom. TMI

I still don't know how to figure out the percentage of something except 10% 15% or 20% and I only know those from tipping in restaurants LOL I feel like I missed the lessons in fractions, decimals, and percentages somewhere along the way and then it was just never addressed again.

I always struggled with grammar, I still can't tell you what a past participle or infinitive is. Practically speaking I know how grammar works I just don't know the name of things beyond the basic - noun, verb, adverb, adjective Can't Believe It

Basically all of geometry beyond the names of shapes and acute, obtuse, and right triangle is completely lost in the ether. I've always struggled with any type of math. I still count on my fingers sometimes but I think that's more of a lack of confidence thing because sometimes I can just say the answer and surprise myself.

I have no idea what colors mix to make different colors lol my 6 year old asked me the other day how to make a color and I had no idea. I remember the lesson in school but I've never needed to do it so it just got pushed aside for other things.

I'm suddenly discovering there are a lot of gaps and forgotten information Im with stupid

Mine is analogue clocks. I can do it, but it takes a really embarrassingly long time as I figure it out.

Lol! I mentally write the word "we".
The w points west, ie left.
The e points to the east= right.

Convoluted, time consuming... but I still use this trick.

Reading through this thread...omg, I nodded in recognition all the way through. Mortgages are entirely esoteric.
Taxes... hopeless.

And I don't know what the x is either.

Roman numerals! I seriously know 1-4 and that’s it!! I am also horrible at geography. I couldn’t fill in a map of the US. It’s very embarrassing. I wish I could be anonymous!

for right and left hand. hold your hands up, with pointer finger straight up, and thumbs pointing at each other. WHich hand makes an L? the left hand. L for left. You can do this without raising your hand, and it doesn't have to be embarrassing.
How to do your taxes: Get a recommendation for a good tax guy and let him (or her) do the work!

Really don't feel bad. Hashem majorly counts your effort and your intention into your tehillim. Yours is pure. Much higher level than someone who can ramble off countless dozens of kapitlach.

When I need to figure out which directions north, south, east and west point to, I have to mentally recall "Never Eat Sour Watermelons" going clockwise.
