My husband and I have been saving for a house for a few years and we have enough for a down payment and moving costs, need a couple thousand more for closing costs etc.
We have been hearing that due to the economic upheaval now, it'll be a buyer's market soon, has anyone had experience buying in a market like this? When are prices the lowest? How do you balance taking advantage of the buyer's market with saving up more to cover all the expenses?

Really depends on where you are. I am a real estate agent and in my area we definitely do not anticipate a buyers market any tine soon. The reality is that there are just far fewer homes on the market than there are buyers - and this is the nationwide trend.

Bump. I'm in a similar situation. Was hoping to buy this summer but I've heard that ppl are predicting that housing prices will drop bec of the virus and I'm not sure if it makes sense to wait for that to happen.
