Historically China the government has been a master at propaganda and deception. They want to deflect and blame others and have been doing so. How else to explain that they let their own people travel out of the country but not within China. They do not want to have the world turn against them.

I sure trust our government as imperfect as it is as well as other western governments far more than the Chinese government based on their documented actions and objective facts on the ground.

Throughout history there have been many, many plagues.

There was one just 100 years ago, which is not that long ago in historical terms.

Many plagues have come and gone. Some they figured out where they came from. Some, like The Sweating sickness of the middle ages, would just come, kill lots of people and then disappear.

I know we like to think we are important or special and that this is unprecedented or crazy. But actually we are just one small part of history. And plagues happen. A lot.

(Not that we, as individuals, shouldn't try to work on ourselves because obviously Hashem picked us to live through this time)
