When I'm feeling unmotivated to do housework, I set the kitchen timer for 10 Or 15 min and work until it rings. I'm always surprises how much I can get done in that amount of time and how energized I become once I start to work.

I do something similar, I pick a long song and clean up for the duration of it. It’s very motivating and more fun! And often I am in the mode and just keep cleaning.

I remembered a couple more:

-Sauté a lot of onions, then freeze in an ice cube tray to use as needed. Can be done with other vegetables as well.

-When packing for a trip, fold full outfits (underwear, socks, shirts, skirts, etc) together for convenience. This is especially useful on road trips!

-Do each person’s/bedroom’s laundry in one load. This makes folding and putting away much easier than when everyone’s is mixed.

-When making egg salad, put the eggs and other ingredients in a ziplock and mash. Great activity for kids!

Thanks! Is it OK to leave meat soaking in water all night? I'm kinda iffy about doing that. If you tried it, I will too..

If it's a stew I add the water in the morning.

Keep a package of baby wipes in every room in the house.
This is my favorite hack.
They are the best for wiping down stoves, table, counters, dressers, spills on the floor, and even small stains on clothing/linen.
Cheap and super easy for surface cleaning.

Obviously, they don't deep clean or sanitize.

The little tab that comes on a bread bag is perfect for keeping your earbuds untangled. Just wind them up in a circle and clip the tab over it. Your can throw them in your bag and they come out untangled every time.

For quick and easy way to get your husbands shirts ironed with crisp: spray spray starch, I use Niagara, on every shirt and put each on individual back rest. Let stand for Appx 10 min and then iron. Takes half the time than when spraying right before ironing and it comes out perfect starched.

it was a joke, but ill admit it does happen when I am nursing new baby and keep getting up. I am usually in a slinky skirt and zip up for the full six weeks after birth so its not uncomfortable

How about preparing all kids stuff a day before, so there's no rushed morning?
clothing, snacks, vitamins/meds, breakfast, swim gear or backpacks filled and anything else needed for the next day.
Mornings I just take out the prepared clothing container and get kids ready in no time.
It makes the entire day calmer.

Remove wrinkles without iron:

My new hack:

A garment steamer. Amazon had a deal a few weeks ago for about eight dollars. I love it!

It doesn't give clothing that crisp just ironed look, but it does take out wrinkles, and when you woke up ten minutes late and have to get your kids out ASAP, every second counts!!!

My new, favorite of all time hack (sorry if its been mentioned already),

Freeze ground beef, flattened in gallon ziploc bags. Make a thin layer inside, squishing it to fill the bag. I put 1-1.5lb per bag.

It takes up less space in the freezer and defrosts in minutes when you want to use it.

I turn last years uniform jumpers into extra uniform skirts for this year.
By removing the top part The waistband goes lower and so the length is fine, and my daughter is thrilled to have a skirt. And I’m glad she has an extra just in case.

I do this with all my meat & poultry! Portion out to 1.5 pounds and freeze. Season, marinate or bread before freezing if possible too. Helps me prepare for dinners in advance as I don't have much time during the week.

I cook my chicken as soon as I buy it, and then freeze in portions.

I used to cook the ground beef too (meatballs, meatloaf etc) and freeze. But sometimes I wanted to make something new that night for dinner and the frozen (raw) ground beef would take hours to defrost.

This way I can take out the freezer 30 minutes before.
