My kids were in Melamed this year, anyway (long story, but it made sense for us). Definitely has pros & cons.

The above description is not totally accurate, but it is true that there are no live teachers/classes.

Success in Melamed depends on your & your child’s personalities. My older daughter & some of the other kids I know of in Melamed were successful, my younger one, not so much- although I still think it was the right choice for her.

If you have specific questions, feel free to post. I am not willing to pm, because too many people will recognize me based on this description.

What is a sample weekly schedule?
How much time are you involved?
How are the kids tested?
What is the cost and are there multiple child discount s?
Thanks

The lessons are assigned at the beginning of each week. The girls need to work approx. 4-5 hours a day to finish everything. They can do work late-until the end of the semester. Some subjects allow them to work ahead, also.

I’m generally not directly involved unless there is a problem- an unclear lesson or a technical issue. I do try to stick around at least most of the time, just to make sure they are actually working.

Tests depend on the subject but are done via the computer.

I don’t remember exact cost, but MUCH cheaper than the ‘brick & mortar’ schools (in Lakewood), and they have a very generous sibling discount.

Chabad online school is virtual classrooms.

Yes these are live classes in real time in a classroom.
Jewish Online school
It's connected to the shluchim chabad school

I was considering homeschooling because of all this but I don't see myself actually going through

I hope we get clarity soon BH
