So what is your solution?

Some are suggesting that it is the employer's should be sued if an employee gets sick.
That would destroy all businesses in USA - and then everyone will starve.

Everyone should have insurance.

It is DEMOCRAT REGULATIONS that have driven up the cost of health care and insurance - because they want to force USA into socialism.

Um, the solution is to provide help to people who need help. Let me break it down more clearly because it seems like you're missing something really fundamental. If someone randomly happens to get sick at work, no, the employer is not responsible. But if the employer is negligible and directly causes someone to get sick, yes, they are at fault. For example, if a warehouse has dangerous conditions that a safety check proved was unsafe, and the boss makes the employer work on the broken machine anyway, yes, they are at fault. The same way, if an employer is supposed to have guidelines for health and safety and ignores them, yes, they are at fault.

But that's not really the issue. Once the employee is sick, they're sick. So now what? Even with insurance, people can be on the hook for hundreds of thousands of dollars because they happened to be the unlucky person to be struck with illness. There are plenty of studies that show the devastating cost of getting sick in this country. According to a Gallup Poll, 30% of Americans said they delayed or did not get medical treatment because they couldn't afford it. 19% of Americans delayed it for a serious condition. Another survey found more Americans are afraid of the financial burden of a serious illness than the illness itself. One story that really stuck with me was a young man who died of type 1 diabetes because he couldn't afford insulin, had no way to get more, tried to ration the insulin he had left, and died a horrible death of diabetic ketoacidosis.

I know it's easy to think the way you do. To assume that everyone can get what they need in America if they just work hard enough, or they just try to not get sick, or they just try to get a good job that provides insurance. But that's not the reality. Millions and millions of people simply cannot afford to survive. One party is trying to provide aid to those people through welfare, universal healthcare, public services to help with mental health, and regulating the cost of things like insulin. Another party is saying "well, you're only responsible for yourself, don't depend on us to help you." Personally, I'm comfortable supporting the former. I cannot imagine looking at my fellow yidden dying and thinking "well, you should've washed your hands."

Again, DEMOCRATS have drivven up the costs of health care and insurance.

Will provide more details after shobbos.

Can you please answer my question. Pretend I'm 12. Now answer as if I am 12.

This is it in a nutshell. Dems were panicking before the pandemic hit because of Trump’s unprecedented successes, especially the economy, and surefire path to reelection (in addition to their laughable candidates to be the nominee). Therefore when the pandemic struck and naturally affected the economy, they became gleeful and giddy (in the words of insiders who have been witness to their conversations and gloating) that perhaps this sudden turn of events might make it possible for even the most incompetent, senile, corrupt pervert such as their nominee, Biden, might catuallybstand a chance.
Dems have no desire to open things up because they don’t want the economy going back to its previous heights under Trump. They know they couldn’t beat him on the economy, and so they’re hoping and praying they can blame Trump for not only the understandable downturn in the economy due to the pandemic, but also for the pandemic itself! You can even see some of the mothers here saying the same thing; it’s ALL Trump’s fault.
So Dems care only about a power grab, their own careers, not the welfare and safety of the American people. Just listen to MSNBC or CNN for 5 minutes (or read some of the posts here from the liberal side, same difference) and you will hear every story and every headline being turned into “It’s all Trump’s fault.”

But why should it be? Can you explain one reason why politics should play a role in what medication you take? Or how you do your shopping?

Not everything in the world needs to be political.

That's your 12 year old answer.

When every post of yours on every subject, including the pandemic, turns into blaming Trump, I’m honestly not sure how you can say the above....

I keep hearing that, but for me and for so many others, it isn't political. It never was!

Every action you have taken since the virus has begun was aligned with your party? Not for me!

That’s pretty funny.

Seriously you have first hand info that the democrats are trying to do this? Can you forward me the info?

I definitely agree that they try to spin everything anti Trump. Makes me want to vomit. I just shut it off Smile

I posted an article here a couple of weeks ago from a Washington insider who said he personally heard Dems speaking together with glee about how (Paraphrasing) this couldn’t have come at a better time to up their chances of harming Trump’s re-election chances and destroying his record breaking economy.
