My daughter is studying in Israel. (not seminary) She came home before Pesach and was just notified that her classes are starting up again in a couple of weeks.
The Israeli consul told us she needs special permission - her college has to apply on her behalf. We contacted her school and are awaiting their reply. We would like her to travel asap since she has to quarantine for 2 weeks.
She has a student visa - does anyone know of a student who has returned to Israel recently without this permission? She has a place to quarantine.

Definitely don't fly without permission, she might get sent back.
I flew back to Israel last week - my husband has a student visa, we have accompanying A4 visas. At that time they were accepting individual applications though you had to have already booked a ticket in order for them to even consider your application. We got approved since we sent letter both from my husband's yeshiva and my daughter's school, which had started already. Plus proof that we're long term residents.
The process has now changed and they aren't accepting applications from individuals - the institution has to apply on your behalf.
When we arrived, they made all non-Israelis wait before being allowed to even enter the airport. They then checked all passports and called up with the numbers to confirm that we were issued permits.
I wouldn't risk travelling without a permit.

Schools are applying for their students. Wait for the institution to do the paperwork.
