If this is your name, how do you spell it and how do people unfamiliar with the name tend to pronounce it? I have a thing about not having an unpronounceable name in non-religious circles.

I voted Liba, but if you don’t want it mispronounced ever do Leeba.

"Lieba" is actually the real correct form, but I voted Liba, because the extra e would just confuse...

My name is Libby. Legally it’s Liba. Pronounced more like leeba. Most ppl pronounce it Libby. I’ve had some say leeby.

If you want to get all trendy (don't!) you could do Leighbah lol
I think Liba and Leeba are good choices. If I ever used the name, I would make great use of Libby - it's adorable!

I have a Lieba.
Thought Liba would get pronounced Li -ba (with a short I sound)
Leba would be pronounced Le-ba (with a short e sound)
And I preferred how lieba looks written to Leeba

I know it’s not as common but we spelled our daughter’s name Leeba bc I wanted it to be phonetic.

My daughter is Liba too (with a middle name but we legally named her Liba)
Love the name
we mostly call her Libby or Libs.
We do have some medical offices call her Libya when they see her the first time

What makes it "correct"? It's Yiddish! Honestly, I've never seen it spelled that way. I think it's a cute way to spell it, but by no means do I think it's correct.
I mostly see Leba or Liba.

DD's middle name is Liba. We never even considered any other spelling.

How does a name spelled with Hebrew letters have a correct English spelling? All of them are transliterations.

It’s spelled ליבא so where does an extra letter come in?

Exactly. The only issue under consideration is the aesthetics in the eyes of the parents and what will be pronounced most correctly. Rena and Dena are names with a similar issue. One e might be pronounced Leh-ba. Liba could be pronounced Lih-ba. Some people think Leeba looks funny. In my opinion, Lieba not only looks funny, but ie is not an ee sound in English. And if you live in an area with a lot of Hispanics, it may become Lee-eh-ba. Also why is there no Riena or Diena version of this name. Where did that spelling come from?
