Quote:
“We had some arrests in Brooklyn where they had guns, [and] hopefully [Brooklyn district attorney] Eric Gonzalez will keep them in, [but] I can’t guarantee that’ll happen,” Monahan said. “But when it comes to a burglary [at] a commercial store, which is looting, they’re back out. . . . Because of bail reform, you’re back out on the street the next day. You cannot be held on any sort of bail. I spoke to [Manhattan district attorney] Cy Vance about that, he told me there’s nothing he can do.”

We live in a sick world.

And those who are responsible for 'bail reform' should cough up the money themselves to pay back the store owners whose stores will be getting looted due to these people being released.

How would bail made a difference? Anyone that could have paid it (or 10% of the amount set) would be free the next day.
The only ones still imprisoned would be those that couldn't pay the bail, not those most dangerous.

Well most people that put up a sizeable amount of money don't want to lose it. So they show up for their court date. What incentive do people have now to show up? None!

Especially now, it's a revolving door. Riot and loot. Get arrested. Return the next night to riot and loot. How absurd! Why should the police do their job? There's no point!

There's a massive bail sponsorship fundraising drive across the country, to the point where some local organization have raised more than they need for this purpose. So that's a nonissue even in places where bail reform has not been enacted.
