This is completely different. This is for safety.

I’m out of Lakewood (obviously) but I’m really worried about what happened today. I’ll find out on 5 hours...

FF, EY shouldn't be in this situation again but AFAIU this is done in critical times of danger in EY , RL, too.

As frum Jews we ask an orthodox rov for these types of questions.

It can be hard or disappointing when we do not get the answer we want to hear.

That's a really good point.

If your rav holds that a radio is OK, then you should hold by your rav.

Still... if my rav holds that a pre recorded seder is played where you don't touch any buttons during Yom Tov - let's give my rav the benefit of a doubt too. You don't have to hold by him, just respect the fact that he too is a rav.

I never did end up listening to that recording, BTW. I just read through the Hagaddah on my own.

We should all be kept safe, and never have to ask these sorts of questions again.

I'm sorry, I hope that I didn't in any way dis your Pesach psak. In a way, they are similar, but I think that the Pesach psak was a very unique one, for that particular time, and ideally for each person as needed. It was a legitimate psak.

amidst all this craziness all I can think is that it must mean Moshiach is very very near may he come now

Jews have lived through situations that were a thousand times worse than this, and those didn't mean that Moshiach was very near.
