Okay, first of all, I know my music habits are like totally last decade. But maybe someone can still help me out here. My kids have a couple of Uncle Moishy and Marvelous Middos discs that they really like, but they've gotten really scratched in the past couple of years, so listening to them is annoying- they skip and stutter a whole bunch throughout. So I was thinking to buy them replacements, but then I know I'm going to be all nervous that they'll get scratched up again.

Then I remembered I have a whole bunch of blank CDs- I think they say CD-RW. So I should be able to download a CD from a website and then burn it onto one of those, no? And then I can just burn a new CD when it gets scratched. Is there any reason that plan shouldn't work?

Anyone know a good website to download such discs from? I don't mind paying- it's instead of buying the cds. And I know I could theoretically just play it off a flash drive or whatever, but my kids are little and it works well for them to be able to go through the discs and choose the one they want and put it into the cd player- hence the scratched discs. If anyone has a link to an album to keep cds in, that would also be a huge help. Thanks!

Use Windows Media player.

Click on Burn a CD, drag the tracks or albums you want (you might be able to fit more than one,), insert your blank, click "start burn".

Here's a link to more explicit directions:

You can store them in padded envelopes, old CD covers from your scratched CD's you're tossing, or buy cheap holders like this:
