First time mom here!
Please give me advice on how and what to feed an 8 month old baby (and beyond) besides for purées. I’m so scared of choking ch’v I don’t know if I’ll know what to do (even though I have learnt basic CPR a few years ago)

you can feed more or less anything.
To prevent chocking hazard cut hotdogs lengthwise. Avoid whole hazelnuts. Avoid candies.
anything else is fine.

My pediatrician said anything except for honey (even cooked or baked ) and anything that might be a chucking hazard like pretzels, nuts, whole grapes, hot dogs etc.
Their gums are tough enough for chewing. The faster you start feeding real food the quicker they learn. Gagging is normal, don't get scared of that.

Start with Gerber puffs or the like.
Sit at the same table as baby or near child so you can watch for signs of choking.

My babies gagged a lot so I couldn't just feed "anything". Start with small pieces of cooked or soft fruits and vegetables, shredded chicken, meatballs, bread, pasta. Supervise while he eats.
