I don’t like seeing people in this community. Everyone is so fake and judgmental. I can hide behind the mask and pretend we don’t recognize each other.

I see mask wearing (except for elderly / high risk) as a sign of being brainwashed or submission
to tyranny. Kind of like being forced to wear a burka.

Wearing a mask is not (only) for the elderly to avoid *catching* covid19.
Pardon the crudeness of the comparison, but here ya go:
In this mashal, we should see ourselves as the ones potentially spreading the virus, and wear masks out of consideration to OTHERS.

My son says he can now pass gas in public and no one will know who did it.
I like that if I run into other people at the mikvah, no one recognizes each other

I have consideration for the millions of jobs destroyed and businesses destroyed by this
prolonged shutdown.
As long as people wear masks, the government will continue the shutdown. When majority
of people stop wearing masks while walking outdoors the shutdown will end.

I get the benefits but still find it so incredibly stifling and uncomfortable. It’s easier for me to stay home. I feel for the people who need to wear one every day for several hours for work. On the other hand, they still have jobs so maybe I should be the jealous one 😆

I’m wearing it in stores because the sign says I need to wear one to be able to shop there. |
Because how would I know that?
I haven't gotten sick, and don't know want to either.
Now I feel more comfortable, and grateful when I see you.
It is really so much appreciated by me that you wear one.

With a tichel and baggy clothes, no one knows if I'm going out in at-home clothes, even in the summertime.

It feels like Purim and I always love Purim.
But honestly, I wish we didn’t have to suffocate ourselves in the process.

Why do you think the mask wearing is prolonging the shut down? We are back at work and wearing masks at work. But business is happening, masks and all.

First, a mask says to someone else "I care as much about your health as I care about mine." I've had Covid, and it was HORRIBLE. I'm probably immune for life, and have antibodies out the wazoo. That doesn't mean I can't be considerate of the feelings of others who are worried.
I don't know if I can catch a different strain of Covid, and I'd rather not find out the hard way.
Masks make a great pollen filter. My eyes have still been itchy, but my sinuses are much happier this year.
I'm less worried about catching seasonal cold and flu germs.
Not having to worry about putting on lipstick and blush when I go out. (Besides, it would smear on the inside of the mask and make a mess.)
As for working, BECAUSE I've been extra careful with isolation, wearing gloves and masks, and washing my hands after every time I've been outside, I've been ABLE to go back to work. I wouldn't be allowed to work at all if I had been lax in any areas of following health guidelines.

Honestly, that is the most idiotic thing I have heard all day.
