I'm no techie, but they used technology that was already installed in people's phones, they didn't install tracking devices. The technology was always there, but it's reserved for terrorist type situations. They decided, at first, to treat Covid like terrorism. They've since chilled out and they are no longer tracking people's movements from what I understand.

No dear. Every cell phone produced these days has a GPS element to it. Any hacker could get a read on your phone and track you through that. It's normally illegal, but the Shin Bet was authorized to track the general population for the sake of Corona, without any warrants etc. That emergency authorization ended a few days ago.

Conspiracy theories aside, Israel is always on the lookout for terrorism, much more so, and much more efficiently than the US. Most of us who are not involved in terrorism appreciate this. But if someone would be trying to escape a lack of privacy, or "Big Brother", Israel might not be the best place to run to.

OP, to answer your question , yes. I’m strongly considering it. I also am concerned about my kids adjusting and the financial aspect. My DH and I were discussing it last night. My DH thinks my older kids (who will be over 18) will choose not to come with us and will prefer to stay in the US. I really need to consider each one of my kids and whether we can do this as a family or not. I wish I made this decision when they were still little. But it’s definitely on my mind and we talk about it.

Huh?
Phones were tracked in order to trace people who were exposed to Covid. Anyone who was a verified covid carrier had their phone tracked and people who were in close proximity to them got a notice they had to be quarantined.
Nothing to do with terrorism.

Gosh am I the only one that thought about fries? Whenever I start reading conspiracy type convo which may even partly be factually correct my brain shuts down into HaShem is in charge mode..and fries apparently. Chips Hebrew=fries English
