Her emotional maturity should kick in at some point and she hopefully outgrows that on her own timeline.

I used to lay in my fathers bed as an older teen mainly reading funny excerpts of Bill Bryson books together.
Real fond memories. Especially since he passed away not long after.
I would never stop a kid.
