To orange, do you pay 1800 a month or year? I pay about $800-900/mo for 2 elementary kids in a ny school. Also, how many cars do you have?

To orange, how did you manage to buy a house In ny with such a small mortgage payment? My family combined salary is about the same as yours but we rent and apartment for 1800, and pay for 2 cars since we need it as my husband works far away.

saved up for years, bought an older smaller home and didnt renovate it when we moved in. We basically figured out how much mortgage we could afford and didn't buy until we could put down enough that the monthly mortgage was affordable.

It's usually about 72k -take home pay.

house payments 2200
tuition 1800
groceries 800
insurance (not medical) $100
gas plus maintenance $100
utilities 250
cleaning help 160

It IS tight but we survive.

Oh ok take home pay vs salary are 2 very different things. My take home salary is about 48,000 vs my salary of 75,500. (My deductions aside from taxes include health/dental/vision insurance, and payment into my retirement/pension)

I laugh when I have to tell people my salary and they’re all impressed cuz I’m like don’t worry I don’t actually GET that salary! In theory I should be getting more than $6,000/month but I’m not even getting $4000 😡
