Sandbox/sandtable, and add water. Sensory fun, great for sculpting, and older kids can learn about and create land formations and water ways.

Everything depends on age, and how much outdoor space you have.

Water balloons, sprinkler, kiddie pool, water fights...you get the picture. It can keep them busy outside all afternoon.

Order a craft book with recycled craft ideas so they can get creative with whatever's already in the house. We got this one: https://www.amazon.com/Recycle.....75228 for $4 on Ebay. It does tend to waste lots of pages (no pun intended) on the importance of recycling, so feel free to look for a better one.

Have the older ones organize contests for the younger ones. One of mine organized a boat contest (with recycled materials, of course Wink)

Lots of ices on hand to keep them happy

Toy/book exchanges with neighbors

Get fish, a bird, a small pet—a certain type of kid will watch them for hours

Crafts that kids always love: acrylic paints and play-doh. Doesn't need much input on your part. These also happen to be the messiest, and paint does stain, so you have to designate a junk tablecloth and smocks to use, and make a firm rule about it.

Bikes and rollerblades

Hit the garage sales, or look for free giveaways—you can find cool stuff you never thought of
