I like it much better in oil but I usually purchase in water because it's less fattening. Wondering what others do!

Always salt water!

I mix the tuna with mayo so it's not to be healthy but I just cant stand getting my hands greasy from opening the tin.

If I can find it in olive oil I buy it in olive oil. Otherwise, I buy in water , squeeze it well, and use my own home made mayo which is made with avocado oil.

Water because I hate when the tuna oil gets on my fingers. In addition, I add mayo and other stuff so I don't see why the added junk is necessary.

My husband likes his tuna with oil instead of mayo, so I just buy it in oil instead of having him squeeze out the water and add his own oil.

I usually get water because it seems to be cheaper, but have always wondered, what is the advantage of oil?

I buy canned in water. I make it with a little bit of mayo, lemon juice, a smoosh of mustard and a squish of ketchup (just a tiny bit of those) plus some sweet pickle relish, salt and pepper. I add very finely diced celery.

In water means salt water. I learnt that in seminary when I was couldn’t figure out why there wasn’t an option for tuna in regular water. Called my Israeli SIL up and sure enough it’s the same thing

In water is too dry and the man asks for moocha mayo- ends up being more mayo than tuna. In oil- I squeeze out most of it and then add abit mayo.

The one in "water" IS in salt water!
Never noticed?
You need the salt to preserve it!

Only oil. And we don't use mayo, but not because we're health freaks - DH just can't stand condiments.

I like the water better (probably because I love anything salty) but the oil comes out cheaper, so that's what I get most of the time.

Is it true you're not supposed to dump the oil down the sink since it clogs the pipes? I hate tossing oil in the garbage, it always leaks....
