My son was born with one undescended testicle. He's 5 months old and it didn't come down yet. Should I already be seeing a pediatric urologist? Is there a way they can make it come down without surgery? Any recommendation for a Pediatric Urologist in New Jersey. Is it something that runs in families? Thanks

Doesn't run in families. It does need to have surgery. It's not a major surgery, in category of hernia. In fact, my child's had to be done in two stages base it was very high up and he needed hernia surgery at same time. Hernia surgery was more involved, in fact. See a pediatric urologist and get it done. Its not a really big deal. Mynsons now a teen, he has no clue it ever happened. (Not a secret, just never came up in conversation)

What does your son's current pediatrician say about it? I'm sure s/he will let you know when it might be a concern. IIRC, most descend by 9 months.
