Check out extraresorts. Wyndham has a great property at Shawnee. We love poconos for hiking, boating on the Delaware and even mini golf. Lots of socially distant activities there!

There's claws and paws zoo, it's stunning. There's lots of hiking, bushkill falls is not far from certain areas, there's boating. We go every year to great wolf lodge and do trips to surrounding places.

There's a stunning interesting playground called mountain view park, my kids love it. We can spend hours there. There's boating not far and Bushkill falls isn't that far either. There's also lot's to do in the hotel so you can technically get away with day trips.
It's usually full of Jews in the summer so they end up making minyanim but DH isn't so makpid about minyan. We go in August, the mornings and nights are pretty chilly.

I’m looking to go to the poconos for about a week. Anyone have any leads where I can find a cottage walking distance to a shul and activities for all ages. Tia

There’s a Chabad yeshiva in Canadensis (2, actually) that has daily minyanim. It’s about 15 minutes from Mount Pocono. You’d have to call them for exact times.

And make sure they are letting outsiders in.

They rent rooms there. We stayed there in past and had a great time. They do daven very late past zman tefillah - if that is a problem.

Just be aware that most attractions maybe closed on the grounds. .
When we went
Outdoor pool was broken
Indoor pool was being used as mikvah
Boats were all broken
No mini golf
But the room and grounds were clean
Really nice playground and grounds.
Pretty waterfall.
Everyone there was really nice.
They offered food super cheap camp style but we brought our own.
tHey also didn’t allow teen girls In August because there is a Camp there then.

Is the shul on premises? And is it a diverse crowd?

It’s a Lubavitch/Chabad crowd. It’s a yeshiva that lives there all year round. The bachrim and staff.
We were only one of 2 non lubavitch families that Shabbos. The other family was a young chassidish couple.
There were very few outsiders. Most of the ppl were staff or family of staff
We stayed in a 2 bedroom apt. No kitchen. There was a living area and sink and small fridge. They also gave outdoor picnic table. It was rustic.
There were other rooms to rent but I didn’t see inside.

It’s more like an inexpensive place to stay while you check out the attractions in the surrounding area. It’s not a resort destination in itself.

Is it still open for rentals? I didn’t see any ads this year.
