I got my letter saying I am being terminated on food stamps at the end of the month.
Does the card stop working ? Do I have to finish the money before then or can I continue using the card until the money is used up?

Use it up before the termination date. Fill your freezer for later.

I can't remember what happened with us, I do think the card continued working, just no new money was added, but I'm not sure.
But I wanted to wish you mazel tov! So happy that your income has increased! May it continue to do so!

If you are getting Medicaid, you still need the card for those benefits, so the card doesn't stop working altogether.
IIRC, the money stays on the card until you use it up. Also, at a later point if you become eligible again, or if you are eligible for other benefits such as HEAP, you are meant to re-use the same card.

When we lost our food stamps, we were able to use the card till the Money used up even if it was after the termination date.

We got off of foodstamps this year too, and we are still able to use the remaining monies. In New York, I believe you have 12 months from when they're given to use them before they are removed from the card.
