It’s gotten to the point where you shouldn’t send your frum children to secular colleges. Their liberalism and sick brainwashing has become rampant and out of control.

University apologizes for professor who said pro-police rally should be called ‘white supremacist rally’
Creighton College Republican President Tyler Henningsen called the professor’s tweet 'morally repugnant'

Its certainly not for "white" people, if you dont want to be graded differently than black/minority students-- https://nypost.com/2020/07/11/.....sors/

And its certainly not for citizens since even the NYAG is now suing Trump because his administration said they wont give visas to international students if their classes will take place online-- https://ag.ny.gov/press-releas.....eport

And its not for legal immigrants or citizens either-- https://www.nydailynews.com/op......html

Citizens really should boycott all these schools and call for the resignation of all the politicians (including Cuomo who authorized financial aid for illegal aliens) and administrators who prioritize illegal aliens and foreign students over citizens and legal immigrants. What are the chances of that happening?

Srsly, it is a problem.

How can one get a decent secular education these days without being force-fed this radical drivel?

So let's explore this. A professor made a comment that you disagree with. The college he works for also found the comment repugnant, and said so. But because someone dared to express an opinion that you disagree with, you would foreclose all colleges for all frum people, limiting their professions and income forever. (Full-time workers without a high school diploma had median weekly earnings of $515, compared with $718 for high school graduates (no college) and $1,189 for those with a bachelor's degree. Full-time workers with advanced degrees (professional or master's degree and above) had median weekly earnings of $1,451.)

Because you think that your children are too stupid to weigh different opinions? Or because you're afraid that if they hear something different from your party line, they might disagree with you?

If you live/work in Lakewood, you can make that straight out of Sem!

That is what I learned here. I am the stupid person with the Ivy degree paying for secular college for my children.

A single, sub-par school has made a proposal that has been widely criticized not only at the school, but at large, and you pretend that its widespread.

As to your next point, do you even understand the issue? These are students who are legally in the United States for college. Student visas. However, many colleges are moving classes online due to covid. Trump wants these students to revoke their student visas and deport the students because they won't be in in-person classes. (Even though there could still be in-person exams, in-person labs and in-person meetings with professors and TAs, at least based on my kids' colleges.) That would mean a huge financial hit for US colleges. In fact, foreign students provide a very substantial subsidy to state schools in the US. In 2015,public universities received more than $9 billion in tuition and fees from foreign students. That's about 28% of annual tuition revenue coming from foreign students, who make up an average of just 12% of the student population. In the 2014-15 academic year, international student enrollment supported about 373,300 total US jobs and contributed more than $30 billion to the US economy.

I couldn't read the last editorial -- editorial, not news -- because it was behind a pay wall. It seemed to deal with DACA, which, as we know, SCOTUS said Trump can't end. DACA, of course, relates to people who came to the US as children.

Yes, NY allows undocumented kids to receive certain forms of financial aid. What do you care, since you won't allow your kids to go to college?

$22 an hour is $770 a week. With how much room for advancement?

While I do generally agree with what you said, I would like to say that for those who go through the STEM studies, the experience is not the same. There is very little liberal indoctrination in those areas, and also the student are much more serious, with many or most of them being Asians and Indians and other nationalities.

College was never good for frum people, that's why we created so many options for getting a degree without the standard college experience.

I went to a ridiculously liberal grad school. It prob isn’t even considered the most liberal. But I was with a few other frum women, and I also don’t take these things very seriously. It’s definitely something to be wary about.

Foreigners dont receive student visas to attend online classes, why should the govt start doing it now? And many citizens are thinking of taking a gap year or going to work because its not worth paying thousands of dollars when you dont get the full college experience. Why should we give visas to foreigners when our own citizens will not even attend college?

So many citizens are not being accepted to college in the first place because its a business and they like to make money. So foreigners get accepted and illegal aliens get financial aid when citizens cannot even get into college or get financial aid if they do get accepted? And how "dare" we complain about that because the illegal aliens "didnt do nothing wrong" and the foreigners pay money (except if they are in Ph.D. programs which pays them to study which should only go to citizens)? What did the citizens do wrong that they are not treated with the same kid gloves as the illegal aliens and foreigners? And if socialists want free college for all citizens then how are they going to find the place for every citizen and still have place for all the foreigners and illegal aliens to attend the same school? Dont you want every single citizen to get a good education? Arent there qualified black citizens who should get priority over illegal aliens and foreigners? And if there is money available then why not give it to every single citizen first? Why create an environment where American citizens aren't welcome in the first place?

I heard people at Touro say that they had to lie about their viewpoints and pretend they are liberal in order to get good grades in some classes so its not just secular schools that are affected by what is going on in American colleges.
