I'm looking to buy a gift for a friend that just bought and moved into her first home. What did you really appreciate? What did you get duplicates of? She lives in a small oot community so keep that in mind. I don't live in that state so needs to be something I can order online and ship to her. I would like it to be something that is for her preferably and not necessarily for the family.

I was going to say a really nice mezuzah cover because houses tend to have many more doorways than apartments. Is that a present really for "her"? I would say yes but ymmv.

Dont own a home but when I moved someone got us a tray... but it doesn't match the colors of this place. Dont get anything that needs to follow a color scheme. Gift card to a Bed Bath and Beyond? Or Amazon? The Container Store? (To help organize her kitchen etc). I know people don't like giving gift cards but I love getting them especially when it doesnt mean I get stuff that doesn't match.

A vase. For that price range you can find beautiful ones in Bloomingdales or BBB and those are very easy to exchange at.

Mirror and console. There's smaller ones that both hang on wall. And bigger ones where only the mirror is on wall, and console on the floor. Don't know prices

Gift certificate. I got a few when I moved not too long ago. One sibling bought me an umbrella stand. Gorgeous gift for my gorgeous house. But it's just so happens to be that because of the layout of my house I don't have where to keep it. Untill we figured that we'll keep it in my bedroom and storage bags and garbage bags for the upstairs.
I did get one beautiful gift and twin wall art for my dinette. But it could've gone wrong. Cuz at the time we didn't have a dinette set yet and the wrong coloring could've ruined the look. Bh by coincidence the dinette set I chose matches perfectly. That's why I say that with a gift certificate you can't go wrong.

I just moved into a new house. Besides everything mentioned above I also got 2 nice netillas yedayim cups (matching my kitchen) with pretty towels for shobbas.
Decorative cake plate, for bundt cakes,
Waterdale lucite Asher yatzer sign,
Pretty mezuzah cases, new shobbas tablecloth..
You can buy nice glasses, pretty centerpiece, decorative hangers...
One of the most thoughtful gifts I got was a nice Lunch the day I moved and supper for the family that night.

I appreciated a gift certificate to a linen store, lucite benchers in a holder - very nice to bring to the table shabbos, new white shabbos tablecloth for my dining room table, outdoor bench, magazine rack, and nice nameplate for my door.

I was going to say this. My mother got me two kosher lamps (the max Kind) and it’s something we use all the time and so appreciate.
