I know we don’t qualify for Medicaid as adults but I was told the threshold for children is significantly higher. We make about 100k pretax with one child. Does anyone know if the child would be eligible for Medicaid in NJ? How do I go about applying?

The asset limit for a child To be on jersey care is around 80k a year. Maybe you can put some money into an Hsa and Child care account and bring down your income

100 k is pretax and pre health insurance. Even if I put some into an HSA it’s still the same pretax, that would lower my net, no?

Thanks! Is the monthly income listed there gross? Because if it’s gross we won’t make it but if it’s net we would. And I assume a family of 3 is mom, dad, and child?

Yes, a family of three is mom dad and child. I believe the numbers are gross income.

It’s gross. 100k with a family of 3 isn’t considered low income, but you may be able to get insurance from the marketplace.
