Hi all!
So in preparing for aliyah this fall we are downsizing from a large house to a 5 bedroom garden apartment.
Anyways just wondering what people do with items that would usually be kept in an attic or garage. So a sukkah, pesach items, suitcases?
Thanks!

Do you get a machsan with the apartment? If you do and it's small, you can ask about buying a different one instead.

If your apartment does not come with a machsan (storage room), people buy a large Keter (or off-brand) shed for the garden.

- The closets/arons are super deep and you can put seasonal stuff on the top shelves, or towards the back
- Having couches, beds, and ANYTHING that can come with storage helps ALOT.
- A machsan comes with many apartments. That's where sukkah boards, big things, pesach dishes, and suitcases are usually stored.

This is excellent advice.
Also, consider what you don't really need to keep. A 5 bedroom garden apartment is really big by many Israeli standards. If you move again you might have to downsize even further. So better to not even bring what you don't really need.
If you have closets in all five bedrooms, that can be really good storage space.
