I know of sleepaway camps that operated in a capsule (everyone had to test negative in order to attend) and BH all went well and the kids are home already after a month long trip.

My son came home yesterday from camp in PA. Be had to test positive before he went, and quarantine as much as possible. There were no cases in his camp.

There was an article in the Forward this morning saying that although the frum community doesn't win any awards for mask wearing, we come out on top when it comes to contact tracing and isolating people who test positive.
As far as the stores and the elderly, Matter of Health grocery has an 8 am elderly hour.

What illnesses are those? I have no idea.
Right now the numbers of hospitalizations and deaths in NY are dropping consistently and staying low. Thousands of people are spending the summer together in camps, bungalow colonies, etc. Also in PA where overnight camps have moved to. It's been 4+ weeks, how long does this have to go on for for people to realize that maybe it's true the risk of kids spreading the virus is minimal. Or maybe it's true that it's not as contagious or deadly as it was in March/April.

The post I answered was about Israel, not New York.

Please don't confuse

- whether covid19 is potentially dangerous

and

- whether the specific policies currently in place in New York State are the best possible policies for fighting covid19.

Those are two very, very different questions.

Why are you looking to blame someone? And specifically a Jew? It really could have come from anyone. People are coming in and out of NY every day, and many of them are not quarantining properly. Someone I know just flew into NY from out of state. She said on the plane, they had to fill out paperwork with info on it, and when they got off the plane, they had to put it in a box. I’m sure they are not the only ones who didn’t fill out the paperwork. And what about all the people who drive in? No one is stopping them at all, no one even knows about them.

This is published in 'The Voice of Lakewoood'

DOCTORS PEN LETTER REGARDING MESHULACHIM

A group of nearly 20 lakewood area doctors undersigned a letter from Rav Yaakov Forcheimer warning about the spread of COVID-19 via meshulachim to lakewood.
The letter noted that the spread of the disease in lakewood remains low, but that there has been an uptick in the past 2 weeks, which the doctors blamed on visitors from outside of the town.
Tomchei Tzedakah is now requiring that all meshulachim carrying its letters of approval wear masks while collecting funds. The letter "encouraged shuls to insist" that anyone collecting funds wear a mask when indoors, and to place signs on shul doors in al necessary languages to communicate that intent.
The doctors also recommended that people insist the same regarding visitors to their homes from outside the region. According to the letter, after social distancing, masks are the most effective tool t ostop the spread of the disease.

Unfortunately, there have been 3 documented cases in monsey - one in new square.

Also, Camp Bnos has had 2 confirmed cases and they're closing down for the first half early.

Does this mean a new wave is starting? Timeline would match people mingling in colonies upstate for weeks now. Does this mean we need to start being vigilant about masks again?

Um in most places people never stopped wearing masks

Testing positive now doesn't mean anything. People that were sick in March are still testing positive. People that need to test for work/camp/school are feeling totally fine but are testing positive.
