You're supposed to wait until after the fast today.
Generally, laundry is not allowed until after chatzos tomorrow. But since shabbos is coming, it is allowed earlier - as soon as the fast is over tonight.

My mom is getting guests tonight and had the same problem with linen. Our LOR told her to put on brand new ones rather than washing.

Even if you’re correct, I think you could have said this in a nicer way.

Yes if it was important.

You may not be wrong, but it is Tisha B'Av, we are mourning the Bais hamikdash, the literal punishment for our lack of Ahavas Yisrael, let's try and speak with respect to each other.

She might, if she felt the question was warranted.

I actually did for several real reasons and did wash linens. We are supposed to ask questions when we have them. Wink

I was wondering about this. Is this for all, or every rov holds different?

Maybe not, but I asked the Rav if I could strip my bed when I left my parent's house to go back home for the remainder of shiva. I didn't want to leave it for them to do.

Curious which ones...

Would you know if sorting the laundry is allowed before d'zman so that I can start right away?

I don't know the answer to this. I wait until the fast is over.

Sorting or folding laundry is not a problem. Washing laundry is the only thing not allowed. (Technically drying laundry is ok too- like if you finished washing your last load a few minutes before shkiah before the 9 days began then you can put it in the dryer)

According to my rov, laundry is allowed from Friday morning this year. If I wouldn’t be able to manage all the laundry that’s needed for shabbos on friday, then I can start tonight. But this is only stuff thats needed for shabbos..

What's the difference between tonight after the fast and tomorrow morning before chatzos?
