Legal exemptions allow your child to be in school during regular times, during an outbreak, your child with a legal exemption needs to stay home legally. That's why your child's school needed to legally send your child home. The school is not rishusdig for following the law

Legally the schools were fine.
Didn't a group of NY parents try to sue their kids' Jewish day school for this during measles outbreak? As I recall, the judge threw the case out.

Anyway, this thread is getting boring and repetitive so I'm out. I'll just say one last time, religious exemptions are soon to be a thing of the past. Good luck with getting a medical exemption--those are not going to be easy to obtain.

@lawngreen you have a lot more patience than I do. We’re up to walking in circles though. I’m out

Last comment here I hope.

I just want everyone to understand that the way people are feeling now about whether or not school will open next year and when...That's how these parents are feeling only much worse. It's not the government that have taken their children's chinuch away. It's their fellow Jewish community members. Please have some decency and stand up for these children. May we all be in Cheder together with Moshe Rabeinu soon!

I feel for those kids - HKB"H should give them the emotional strength to deal with the feeling of being thrown out. I have absolutely no compassion for the parents (not referring to specific child with allergies or medical reason ). They chose to let fears about the possible vaccine health effects before the immediate emotional damage and long term chinuch damage.

I actually would do a shidduch with an anti- vax family if the climate of the community changes. As it stands now it is such a divisive topic that I am not interested in bringing the division into my family. If it turns into a "we stand during kiddush/ we sit" type of difference I don't care - it's not that I am so pro vax on principle but I am against people being moser nefesh so much for something that is not absolute halacha.
