I’m looking to go away with the family for 2 or 3 days next week. We don’t want to spend a ton, just to get away for a bit to a place near minyanim. It can’t be a beach or water activities because I have a teenage son. Any suggestions? We’re in Baltimore so PA or NJ would be good options.

Do you have any credit card points or travel points?

I find any trip planned around state parks can be cheap. Find one with amazing hikes.

What about if you stay in Kingston or Scranton.
Things are a drive from there but worth it if you need a minyan

Ricketts glen state park is an amazing hike
Hickory run state park - boulder field and other hikes
Knoebels is a really good amusement park. You pay just for rides you go on and stay as short or long as you want. It isn’t such a bad drive from Baltimore. (There is a water park but kind of seperate )

Plan to bring your own food.
Kosher food in vacation spots is usually overpriced. Plus, the kind of place that would have kosher options is going to be expensive, anyway.

I’d definitely bring my own food. Just trying to think what our options are.

Parks and free/inexpensive outdoor historical sites are probably your best bet. Take along supplies for outdoor bbqs, etc. I'd stay away from corn mazes or aquariums etc--that stuff is expensivw. You can drive a bit from the sites to more inexpensive motel options. Anything very close to a tourist spot will cost more.
What about Gettysburg, PA?
