The high school here is shevach, but I heard that a lot of girls dont get in.

Where do these girls go to high school?

Do they go schlep to Brooklyn or long island for high school??

Pls help me with high schools for my dd ....

I am new to queens and dont know schools...

We need a bit more info about your daughter and family hashkafa to give constructive advice. Otherwise you’ll get anything from central, which is YU’s high school, to a coed school on Long Island to a Bais Yaakov in Brooklyn.

Shevach is a great school.
If it is a good fit for your daughter and family not sure why you think you won’t get in.

Well, like I said shevach is a good fit. We are not very yeshivish .. we are just plain frum...(not modern orthodox).

Thanks to all who replied.

So, it seems most ppl send to schools in long island or Brooklyn???

(Central is close, but my dd will not fit in because we are not modern orthodox. )

Assuming she is in BY or Bnos Malka now she should get in.

The people that I know that go to Brooklyn or the 5 Towns are either too yeshivish or too modern (and don't want a BY style HS) for Shevach.

Well, I will apply ....but I know it's hard to get into any schools that has a limited amount of space...unless you have a lot of $ AND your child is perfect "" (with good grades)....

My dd is very well behaved bh, but we will need a scholarship. She has good grades, but maybe not as good as others.

(Also, my dds classmates told her that their sisters didnt get in. These are great families (but not as much money)and have been in queens a long time such that they would have more connections.(I'm new here.) So, when I heard that they didnt get in, I figured I better have other options prepared too.)
