For various reasons I'm convinced DC has pandas. Now that Dr. Shulman isn't here anymore, who can I go to? My pediatrician makes fun of this whl pandas theory. Doesn't believe in it even by mistake.

Dr Michael Gabriel at PATH pediatrics. He’s an integrative dr so will use diet and supplements in addition to medication.

Shulmans NP is starting to see pandas patients on her own.

If you suspect Lyme, dr Visconti in Staten Island.

Op, I just took a few of my kids to be tested for pandas by a Dr in Williamsburg that takes insurance. He does the full bloodwork for pandas and lyme. Unlike my own pediatrician that laughed me in the face when I explained the symptoms of my child and made me feel like I didn't know what I was talking about. His name is Dr. Kohenbash and he's in parcare in Williamsburg on park ave. Mothers out there, if u see your child is not him/her usual self please please have them tested it can save much anguish! My child is already on supplements for 3 months and he's bh back to his regular self.

I'm not suspecting Lyme at all. Dc has some symptoms that are typical symptoms for pandas.

I don't know about Pandas literate doctors bh, but when my preschooler started showing symptoms of anxiety and repetitive behaviors, the pediatrician we use (in BP) sent dc for bloodwork to get tested for Pandas. I didn't think it was that bec dc had never had strep and because there is a history of anxiety in the family but I took dc for testing just to rule it out. Given all the controversy over Pandas, and how people here say their doctors laugh at them when they bring it up, I was surprised the doc sent dc for the bloodwork even though I didn't mention or ask anything about Pandas. BH didn't have Pandas, but if you want the name of the pediatrician we use, I can post it for a few mins before deleting.

Don’t want to derail- but a psa-
My daughter was really not acting herself & gets strep pretty frequently with behavioral changes. With all this pandas talk on here recently I was thinking of taking her for some bloodwork.
Meanwhile we discovered she was infested with lice Sad Can't Believe It Cleaned her out & she’s a new kid. Crazy thing is she wasn’t scratching or complaining & I don’t know how it was hidden from us like that for so long...

So just an awareness to be on the lookout for other factors that may contribute to behavioral issues...

It's not lice. I keep on checking my kids. I've had share with lice. I'm very on top of it.

I don’t mean Davka you op & not necessarily lice as the issue. I’m just bringing an awareness to myself and others that there may be external factors contributing to something behavioral or seemingly medical.

Some drs are believers, some are not, some are on the fence.

FWIW, pandas can’t be ruled in or out by any blood test. It is a clinical diagnosis.
