How to prevent that? Make it easier to clean? Get the burnt food out of the hole in the oven floor?

Do you mean where the fire is, below the floor? Or the flat surface below the racks in the oven?

Well, a bundt cake grew and grew and spilled over, some below the racks and a big glob fell into where the fire is.

There is a way to remove the bottom. It will make cleaning both areas easier.

I almost had fire with oil spilling where fire is. How do you remove bottom to clean it?

Depends on your oven but there should be screws on the bottom metal sheet/floor of the oven. My husband took it all apart to clean for pesach.

Buy Hefty oven rack liners! $4 for two at Walmart. At the very least, bake things like pies and cakes on top of sheet pans

There are screws toward the back. We don't open it every year. Just once when we needed it.
