Clothing- for me per season, kids are more like $600
Car- $23k used
Furniture- my couch alone was $3700

Jewelry- eternity band $3k, reset diamond $1500
Insurance alone is $3k a month
My mortgage is $3k a month

40th bday present to myself (diamond bangle)
Before that, 30th bday present to myself (Cartier watch)
Struggling to think of anything else. I’m not counting tuition or my fertility treatments: these aren’t THINGS.

Jimmy Choos over $1000? Are you talking boots or just including the sales tax?

Nothing I can think of besides tuition and rent. Life is too expensive...luckily my landlords bought us our fridge when ours died because that could have been close to 1,000. Even medical bills were less due to financial aid (we don't get Medicaid but our share of cost was too high for us to afford and we qualified).
Compared to the original thread, I buy clothes at target, Walmart, and a few dresses at other places. But nowhere near 1000 combined for my two kids. I don't believe in a separate shabbos coat. My kids are all under 7 so no shabbos shoes, suits etc. but they do dress nicely- button down shirts, bows etc.

Some people have bigger expenses than other. Or they simply have more money to spend.
What is so hard to understand?

I didn't read the thread. Was this one child? If so was this everything for a whole season - coat, boots, shoes, uniform? Yeah, maybe a lot, but not worthy of a spinoff IMO.
