Quote: | Finally read Return of the Thief and while I enjoyed reading it, I was kind of waiting in vain for some kind of crazy bombshell all the way through and only got a couple of little twists. |
Gonna disagree on this one. Aside from the Costis/Kamet and Relius/Teleus squickiness this book was THE BOMB for me (in the best way) - she paid off twenty years' worth of investment in one insane book that kept me breathless and keeps giving every time I reread. The Thief was slow but rewarding, QoA was wild, KoA remains one of my fave books of all time, the next two were okay but... okay (I mean, SOPHOS but still - honestly why did we need the whole Kamet book at all?) but Return of the Thief just blew me away. I'm still incoherent about it. Blew. Me. Away.
