NYS considering mandatory Flu Shot

Whether you get the flu shot or not, you should be concerned about NYS mandating this shot every year for all children daycare through college. It is a vaccine that is at most 50% effective.

I spoke to Shelly Mayer last year and she was AGAINST a flu shot mandate.
Despite politics being a moving target, the governor is considering this mandate at a time when kids are already wearing masks, staying 6 ft apart, using hand sanitizer every 10 minutes and only going to school half the time... so what could possibly cause the governor to mandate an ineffective flu vaccine? Money perhaps?
Take a look at the 2018/2019 flu effectiveness for school aged children - 93% INEFFECTIVE... and the side effects are "flu-like symptoms" - which will shut all schools down regardless of a COVID test. It's that simple.
So if you wish to avoid the chaos, please call and get vocal. If you want the flu shot, absolutely get it, that's your choice. But if you get the nasal spray one, then please have your kids stay home for a few days as it sheds, or can to other kids. The masks may prevent this but if your child gets the common reactions which is "flu-like symptoms" then wearing a mask will make that worse.
It's a no-win situation for parents. So sorry. We're all caught in this. But I just wanted to let you know what's coming. YOU can stop this - call your legislators.
