Dh never did the braiding, but I enjoy that part. He'll often put up the dough.

Right now he makes the week-to-week challah, he works from home and I work out of the home.

Nope.
Either I do it or DD (9) does it (better than her older sib)!

I make the dough and DH braids it, because he is so much better at it than me.
So cute that there are others out there like us.

Haha! I always thought I was the mean wife asking dh to help me. But like others have said, my husband too braids nicer than I do!

No. For me it’s a full day process somehow and he isn’t usually home during any of it since I start earlier in the day. I also haven’t always been making homemade challah. But it’s sweet that so many husbands help out with challah! In my brain I kind of reserve it as a woman’s mitzva.

My dh doesn't and it never occurred to me as an option. He usually does a lot of cooking for Shabbat but the challot are "my" thing, no matter what. I bake one batch of small fresh challot nearly every Friday. Tastes much better than frozen imho. If for whatever reason I can't bake, we buy. Dh just doesn't do challot.

I haven’t made challah dough in years. He makes it every week, and whichever one of us is more available shapes it. He monitors it in the oven. So he does most of the work and if anything, I help him.

I make challot about once in every 3 weeks.
DH doesn't help, but he buys the challot on the weeks that I say I'm not making them, and is sure to compliment when they are homemade .
Sometimes my kids join in on the braiding.

Didn't read the other answers.
My DH makes the dough (5# every few weeks, at this point) and has always been the one to make it when we make Challah (married 25+ years, making challah has gone in and out over the years). For a while, at one point he helped braid, and then at one point he did all of the braiding for a short while. The last couple of years, my DDs help with the braiding (this is the first time they've been old enough to help) so he has 'retired' from that part, but he still makes the dough, by hand, early friday morning.

DH usually makes it and I just braid and egg it.
My dh loves cooking. He makes most of shabbos. I won't let anyone else make chicken soup though. I also usually make dips and help prep, fry and clean up. And I make sure other things are done for shabbos.

No. But he makes it when I am away. And he is baffled why I spend all that time braiding it. He just takes the dough, divides into a few pieces, and bakes. And it tastes good he says.

I make the dough and shape the loaves. But he will egg them and watch them in oven. Usually I fall asleep at this point.

My husband kneads the dough. We like the taste of hand knead.

I make challah by hand and sometimes I don’t have energy to knead , so we take turns kneading the dough. There are times that I’ll make the dough and need to leave the house and I’ll have DH take over the rest of the process. He’s more particular and will make nicer braids than I do .

It never occured to me that men would help with Challah!
so cute that so many husbands help with braiding!
If I ask my dh he wld think I fell from the moon!
He gets annoyed when he does dips - he has stopped doing that too. He thinks all the cooking should be on the women, because "its the womens job."
