Wow. That's a lot.
When she was a little baby she spat up a ton so I had to have 3 changes of clothing and as many spit up cloths as I could stuff in plus everything else I have now.
Now thank G-d we are passed that so it's a much lighter bag these days!
car keys, wallet, 2 diapers, changing pad, 2 doggy poop bags, small pack of wipes, small pack of tissues, mini hand sanitizer (I've always had that in there even pre-covid), a shirt, a pair of pants.
That's it unless we are going to need something specific for where we are going.

Sheet with emergency contact info
Ton of hme’s
PMS valve
Ziplock bag with 4x4 gauze
Ziplock bag with some other assorted med supplies

So I don’t have a car, but yes to the wallet & I always say mommy should have a spare change of clothing too because I can tell you of at least 4 scenarios within last year that I got vomit or yogurt sprayed on me & I was in a different city or state at an appointment...
And yup- we used to have quite a few clothing changes in the pasttoo

Nursing cover
One burp cloth
Small blanket
Couple of onesies

I used to have a separate diaper bag, separate suction machine bag & about lunchbag size bag for the trachs & some of the smaller supplies. Then hook pulse ox & feeding bag on mommy hook on stroller. Not everything even fit in our big stroller basket so was always quite the sheep.
It was also such a pain in & out of the car to multiple appointments weekly with so many bags, food, blankie, stuffed animal she carries all over, car seat etc.
So I found this huge briefcase that fits in all the stuff. It weighs a ton & breaks my back but too bad...
We just got a wheelchair with huge storage on bottom so now I don’t have to carry it on my back bh.

Wallet, children's Tylenol, small siddur, pocket size calendar, pamper, gum, pens, and adult Tylenol. (I actually had to go check my carriage bag I didn't even know what's in there). This is in my doona carriage bag. When I go out with my big carriage and take my bigger carriage bag I add wipes, water bottle, plastic for carriage-folds very compact, and of course my phone.

So what are your essentials you don’t leave the house Without?
Mine include:
(my baby is actually a couple yrs old but with sn so it actually includes a ton of medical supplies too & essentials in case we have an emergency admission. I should start another thread for what you keep in your emergency hospital bag)
Diapers
Wipes
Changing pad or chuks
Spare outfit including onesie & socks
Ton of bibs
Tissues and or napkins in ziplock baggie
Phone charger
iPad & charger (these for appts)
Sm ziplock baggie with ponyrubbers
Comb
Water bottle
Snack
Straws & 2-3 spoons/forks (trust me, these have been a lifesaver countless times )
Purell
Ziplock bag with Clorox wipes
Face Masks (not new since covid19 )
Spare contact lenses
Pen
Sharpie
Ok, this is what I remember offhand....
Now your turn |
My bag is not so far off, for big trips like to the zoo or something. No Clorox wipes, no sharpie, no contact lenses, but otherwise similar.
For a quick round of local errands I just always have a couple of diapers and small baggie with wipes stuffed into my purse. Plus I keep phone charger, tissues, shopping bags, things like that in my car.
