I need more storage on my Iphone 5S, that I can use on any phoneId buy in the future.

I read this (one star) review saying that when they upgraded to a new phone, this top rated Flash Drive didint work.

I upgraded from iPhone 5s to iPhone X. Now the iXpand won't work. Sand disk knows about this problem. When I try to fill out a form on iXpand site, I can't successfully complete the complaint form. On the site to file a complaint, I can't figure out how to add a photo of my purchase. 'The site
is not user friendly. see less"

I think a Flash Drive is a one time purchase, and theres probably one that would work for most phones.
I think Icloud storage you have to pay monthly.
