I'd love to start a blog about a niche topic I'm passionate about.

I'm finding setting up a blog to be too technically complicated, even though I've read dozens of articles online about it.

I'm thinking having an Instagram page would be easier, as it could serve almost the same function as a blog, but be much easier to post, not have to deal with maintenance, hosting, etc.

The problem is that I don't have a smartphone and for hashkafic and chinuch reasons, I don't plan to get one. I would be able to run a blog from my computer but not an Instagram account.

Any advice? Any platforms similar to IG but that can be easily used with a computer?

Wow I'm in the exact same situation. Following. Right now I have all my ideas on blogspot, where no one can find me and also hard to use.

Maybe you could hire someone on onlinejobs.ph or upwork for a few dollars an hour to manage an ig account for you?

Thanks, but then I can just hire them to set up my blog, right?

Gotcha. There seem to be some workarounds to using ig on a pc. Not the full version but a lot of it is accessible.

How'd you set it up intially? Hosting? Domain names?

I bought a domain name and hosting, but I'm so confused as to how to get it off the ground.

the easiest way to get it off the ground is install wordpress and pick a theme. (wordpress.org) then you can have your own domain name without the wordpress after it. you can make it nice and fancy and install all sorts of stuff or you can just... blog.

But even easier than THAT is using wordpress.com (no hosting, no installing wordpress). for example, see http://sortedmegablocks.wordpress.com
